To say that I'm excited about my up coming concert is an understatement. I'm beyond excited and nervous too. It's been too long since I graced a stage on my own. But the church is lovely and I'm surrounded by folks I love and who love my music. I'm excited to share this with you. After five long years, it feels good to be back in the saddle so to speak.
I've been listening to the album and reflecting on how the process of writing these songs has changed me. I feel more vulnerable like I could cry at a moments notice. I also feel more connected like the songs have touched a deeper chord in my heart and caused me to open places often left closed. In many ways that's a good thing but it does bring tears.. One of my songs says - the problem with truth, when I finally find it, the tears start to come and I can't see the page. Yup that's about it too.
So dear friends, wish me luck for Saturday and if you can come, please do and say hello. Love you all.
Counting down the days till the acoustic concert at Benvoulin Church. It's been too long since I've done anything like this and I'm so looking foward to it. I will be joined by Andrew Smith, Neil Fraser, Shamma Sabir and Nils Loewen. I have also asked Sheila Dyer to read from the chapbook. The acoustics in that church are amazing and I think it's going to be lovely. Who knows - I might even get my charming husband up for a song. Tickets can be purchased at the link on this page and it is limited seating, so please purchase early. Would love to see you.
Join an eclectic mix of musicians for a glorious open mic. Then sit back and listen to Jane Eamon, as this month's feature, share stories and songs from her new CD, Pieces of Me.
“Tears are being shed as we listen to this album. ”
“This is the album I always wanted to make but (for one reason or others) never did. Just really good work. I know I'm not the only listener who will be inspired or comforted by your songs. ”
“It's time this baby came out cause it's perfect timing. I'll make sure to hand out handkerchiefs when you perform. Don't hold back. Tell your story!!”
“So beautiful Jane. So raw, so powerful, so much space for the lyrics to shine through. Your voice is absolutely perfect. You are such a beautiful soul. ”
“No time wasted on these songs. Deep and intriguing like Bruce Cockburn. It's like the "wind on our necks is just somebody blowing us kisses."”
“....what struck me most was the authenticity that you managed to convey, both through the arrangements, but also the content. Not many albums these days resonate as much as yours does. Thanks!!”
“I love how the sad and the beautiful and the f----ing hard and horrible and the reluctant acceptance all get their moment and...all seem to belong together. Making something real. ”
“It is so beautiful, Jane! Your voice is so gorgeous and the production suits it perfectly. Such sorrow and love. So well done! Congratulations!”
